Worx Worx

Working for this temp agency makes me kind of feel like Golden Boy. The problem is I am not as hardworking or dedicated to learning as much as I can about the field. I have also been working in one place for 2 weeks, unlike his quick 2-7 day stays at various jobs. I also will most likely just do office work. I have a spiral bound pad like he does, but I can’t draw (although I wish I could) so I guess I am just a “wanna be.” I am comparing myself to the all female programming firm episode, i.e. episode 1. My boss /supervisor obviously is not as stacked as the anime character, but the feel and ethic of the place and how I behave is very similar. Today I began working with other people on their projects, instead of alone on my little assignments. It was lame, I basically did someone else’s filing for them, because I think they are running out of things for me to do. I complete my task with speed and efficiency. I should get a bike like I planned at the start of the school year. I don’t want to buy one here, because I feel like I will buy one in Japan. If there is a foldable/shippable bike out there, maybe that might be a good option.

I watched an exciting Celtics game with my dad. It was a great Celtics ballgame until the 4th, where they lost a 17 point lead. The Celtics only won by 4 points thanks to some clutch free-throws by Ray Allan and KG. Kendrick Perkins was my personal favorite player of the game, but after he was benched and went back to the court nothing spectacular came out of him. Still one of his best games of the year and his best playoff game yet. KG had some pretty awesome shots too, several that were right at the shot clock for 3. Now we just need 1 more win and we going to the finals.

I realize also, I mass waste coffee when it is free. I should stop being wasteful. There are no plans yet, so I will have to see what happens. Worst comes to worst, go home after work and L.O. (Finally) I should try to finish Bioshock at some point. Maybe I will restart it, and just harvest all the children. Single player games just don’t fit my lifestyle, too many multiplayer games and too many people I know play them.

Time to find a place to eat. I miss steak tips.

On Suffolk's Time

Well thanks guys, now I can be reassured the drinking and driving will go down due to the increased use of in car coolers for cokes. On another note, I am at work calling away as usual. I read through my online post. So I figured I would talk about a few things. I am worried about my Xbox in Japan. What I have realized in the few hours, is that Xbox life is low there, but when its alive its vibrant. Ninja Gaiden 2 just had a nice photo launch, and I luckily got to relive it via the internet. I started watching Semi-Pro on a nice new streaming website I found. Its solid quality, and the movie is not as bad as a lot of folks said. I think it plays a lot on funny stereotypes without making it racist and extreme. I am glad to see some representation. I want to mod my 360 case soon, I should find some samples and get to work. I figure a samurai/symbol would be fine. Qing visited me and brought me some snacks. She said her friend Charlie is having a going away party today, he was a cool guy from china. He had a very Japanese musician feel too him, I think he rolled with that crew too. I remember we went to a party with some Berkley students, and there was 5 Japanese musicians there.

I also got my check from R.A.D, not much but it will pay what I owe. I actually went to pick up my new time card and they had my check waiting. I guess every Wednesday is not bad. I think I am going to keep working for R.A.D though, I looked up Randstad and it did not seem that appealing. The offerings were not as plentiful and most require some previous experience specifically doing the task of the job. Now I have worked a lot in my life, but never consistently in one industry for a length of time.

My co-worker was showing me pictures on facebook of her cousin's wedding etc, and there was strippers in them. I thought facebook screened that? I laughed, and obviously I am not going to complain, but at the workplace? I kinda don't like facebook, people use that instead of older means of communication, i.e talking in person or the phone. Also when have you lasted received a hand written letter from a friend? I remembered I would get like 2 a day when at camp. More to come about facebook, once I parse out a more constructive argument/plan its downfall.

Food for Thought

Last night I was happy because at least there as good food when I arrived home. Unlike my lunch today, which was greasy and pathetic in the category of flavor? Don’t eat at DeliOne a Greek place in the financial district.

I did have a good time at work yesterday. I just read Kotaku and Engadget. We got out somewhat early like 8:40, but I arrived home to an exploded coke in the fridge. I didn’t take a picture and I wish I would have. I talked to Qing while reading other web articles. Eventually, I figured I should get to work. Lost Odyssey is so tempting but I want give at least 8 hours in one shot. I went to see if people were on bnet, and Dan and Jeff were. I gave Bennett a call and him and Dave came online. We 2v2 and I –sdem SK. We were doing well, but something crazy happened with my computer. It started striking hotkeys on its own, to the point where it exited me from Wc3 and brought up a webpage. I came back online and Tony and 3 of his friends 3 vs 5 us. We got owned due to stuns. I had Drow Ranger who I never use. I left after the game, because it was nearing 2am.

I decided to wear a vest today, doesn’t look bad I think. I saw that office girl in the elevator today. I had my shades on so she did not notice me looking at her looking at me. She works for MassDev, but on the floor bellow me. I think less of her now, maybe because I could not see her clearly before. Sorry guys for all the hype. Tomorrow is Thursday, but nothing has been planned. I want to go out though, maybe to a movie, bowling or pool. Gaming is cool with me also. I get paid Friday so, I am interested on the weekend happenings. I have a graduation party to go to I know that, but nothing else planned? If Qing is out of work, I might leave early and go out. I still have 250 dollars to pay out, so maybe not.

I am still awaiting a reply from the abroad office, I think I will give them a call tomorrow…how pathetic. CNN.com is always full of info, such as the oldest navel ship I the US fleet is leaving Japan to be decommissioned. I think that is pretty crazy, to be a navy soldier and just live where ever the boat takes you. I usually browse the world section, but I am now expanding to U.S, Tech, and Health. May is almost out, 3 more months of summer.

Thr33 Day W33k3nd (4)

Memorial day? Pretty memorable in my opinion. I woke up to Farid and Tido watching “Wild Wild West” a well known Will Smith movie. It is also known fact that Will Smith is one of my favorite actors, and definitely my favorite black actor. I grew up watching him on Fresh Prince so I always liked his action/comedy genres. Qing and I went roller blading to CVS to pick up some “feminine products” as the aisle was labeled. I fell pretty badly while I was roller blading, I cut my left palm, my right elbow, and got a big bruise on my left hip. Of course I got up and kept going. When I cut my palm I landed on my wrist pretty hard, it’s been in pain ever since, it even affected my Halo 3 playing later. After we showered and changed, we walked to Aisyn’s Market for a second. On the way back we passed Aunty Lauren’s house they were having a bbq. The food was surprisingly good, and we ate/played with Lisa’s kids. We headed back down the street, and I bought 2 3-liter sodas, of the pineapple and orange variety. I planned to hang out with Tido and folks from down the street, but when I arrived he immediately started to hate on me, so I figured fuck ‘em I’m out. Farid, Qing and I just went back to my place and chilled played some Halo 3. She slept again. JT and Sylvia came over later that night, around 10. Then Jimmy and Chris came over around 11:30. So now Farid, Qing, JT, Sylvia, Chris, Jimmy, and myself in my room. Deep much? I also have not put up my AC so it became hot very fast with the output of the Xbox 360. It was time to get sweaty. I’m talking, rainforest sweaty. We just had some local games, and a few XBL ones, but JT and Sylvia headed out, we gamed on. They left around 12:30 and I went to sleep to get ready for my long Tuesday at work.

So what is on the tap tonight? Lost Odyssey? Halo3? DoTa? I will start with L.O but if called I will not shirk my duties. Ode to you mass weekend of Halo 3. GG.

Thr33 Day W33k3nd (3)

I awake again, and Qing remained sleeping. I quickly got dressed and went into my brother’s room. Farid and him were up. I found out that there is a baby shower for Keisha and Mohammed at 5.

My mom had left last night to go to foxwoods with my grandma because she bought tickets for a concert for he recent birthday. We (Qing, Tido, Farid, and me) just killed time before the baby shower. We drove to Qing’s so she could change into something nicer for the baby shower. Tido and Farid went to visit Nivid while Qing and I got ready. It was dry at this point, and I called Sir Alexander (as to the advice of Shivani) and he came over. To my dismay Tido thought he was a hustler and told me to send him on his way. Now, this is not my style. If you make a trip, try to hustle me, I normally will be hustled. I feel bad if someone goes an extra mile for me and I just shit on them. Qing said I should not care so much what people think, and if they judge me by that it’s bad business practice. Can a company be mad at a person for making a return? I think not. The baby shower was in Dedham and we stopped for some Gummy Bears and Orangina on the way. The group was pretty small maybe 30-40 people. A lot of food went to waste. There was games between the guest, one which was to dress a baby blindfolded. I did this competition before, so I stepped up and won. I did lose the bottle chugging contest, I guess I need to work on my nipple sucking skills. >.<. It was a good time though, we were able to buy some drinks from the bar, and play basketball with some local kids (5-10 years old), and that was hilarious. There was one boy who basically stripped naked to play. I thought, this kid is going to be funny when he gets older. The drinks were ok, a little light though. I had an Amstel light for the first time since Bermuda, it was rich and no aftertaste just like I like.

Danny and his girlfriend went, she was remarkably pretty, and I was pretty shocked. Their daughter was really cute too. Not bad, buddy. We all returned to JP for an after party in Needham at her place. I would have loved to go, but Tido decided to go with Tiger and Chris to the boat ride. He was not only my ride, but several others. He was really mad because I went with Tiger and Chris to Jackie’s house to play Guitar Hero for Wii and take care of things. We took under and hour.

He left Omar, Josie, Qing, Farid and me behind so I invited everyone over. Omar bought a Heinikan Draft Keg, and a pint of Hennessey. He broke the keg when putting it together, so when you used the tap it would spill from the top. I had to go to some serious extremes to get things working, including getting a bucket from outside, washing it, and setting it up so the keg would work inside. We all chilled for 2 hours or so, drank, danced, drank some more. I have a strobe light so once that got going people were kind of tripping. Omar and Josie left shortly there after, and amongst the solo cups, bottles, and ash we went to sleep.

Thr33 Day W33k3nd (2)

After we woke up, although hungry, Qing and I talked pretty intensely about what happened yesterday. We ate some rotis, and continued talking for a while. My cousin Farid from New York came down on Saturday so we had to be around for his arrival. After eating and talking (maybe 3 hours total) Qing and I were going to chill a while and shower before he arrived. Alvin called me and said he was in town, and asked if he could come over. I explained to him what my day’s plans looked like, but he decided to drop by. His timing was bad, but it’s funny, he is the first person who has dropped by with bad timing. I had him get me some items from 7-11 to kill time. When he returned, we took some drinks of Jack and Coke, as talked. Shivani, Guleito (Speedy), and Sir Alexander (Al) as they introduced themselves paid us a visit. Before we could even get started, Farid arrived. My uninvited guest made things a little crazy in my room; to the point that Alvin decided to leave. I did not appreciate it, and I will talk with my sister about it. Farid and I basically played Halo 3 every chance we got. Qing chooses to sleep most of the time when we play, I will have to find something she likes playing. I had to use some of the keif to hold us through, but I still have plenty left. Alvin and Steve Sy swung by later. I didn’t have anymore so we just sat outside and chatted while they smoked some cigarettes. Steve smoked a Black & Mild, it reminded me of the time we got caught in Little Ryan’s backyard smoking Black & Mild under his tree. Since we were not doing much, they went home. We ate what my mom made, Fried rice and ribs, outside in the new tent. I set up the lights so we were able to eat during the night. We went back upstairs, gamed some more until Tido got home. We hung out with him for a while using the items that Alvin picked up. Once again, it became late and I decided to go to bed, Qing was up still. I went to sleep, and she stayed up and helped take care of my room while I was asleep.

Thr33 Day W33k3nd

I began writing amidst a gathering of morning commuters. At first I thought, “it’s hard to remember 3 days into the past…” but once the fact that a wonder-full long weekend started with an early release from work my memories fell into place. After getting out of work early I decided to go home first and get something from JP to eat. Matthew my neighbor and I shot my rifle at a brick in my backyard for 30 minutes or so, I understand how to use the rifle better, but I am still not that good. We were stopped by a sudden sunny downpour. I decided to call it a day, grab a roti and just chill until I was ready to play Lost Odyssey. Before I changed, Jimmy called me and said he was in the area with his cousin Thy. They came over to play Halo 3 and chill. Qing and I had plans to meet on Friday because she was unable to come over on Thursday. Because of the sudden visit and the intense Halo 3 playing that ensued I regrettably let my cell phone’s battery die and missed her calls when she arrived to Jackson Sq. She said she called, waited, and then called my house. My mom supposedly called me to tell me to get the house phone, but I did not hear her. She also never even tried to come upstairs to call me. Qing and I finally spoke when I realized my phone was dead and plugged it in. She told me she went back home after coming all the way to Jackson. That made no sense to me, and her logic was/is “I did not know if you were going to be home, so I did not just want to go to your house.” I think that if I said “I will be home” and you can’t contact me, most likely, meaning 85% or above I am going to be home. If I am not home, I will return shortly. I spoke to her while gaming so Jimmy and Thy heard everything. They left after a 3rd round. I talk to Qing for an hour, and she decides to come over again. She wanted me to do 1 of 3 things. Drive to her house and pick her up, meet her downtown, or meet her at Jackson. Now Will came in from out of town, and said he wanted to chill and he was already going to leave to visit. We ran into Speedy on the block, so I invited him up for a drink. After what Shivani told me about him, I felt bad just leaving him outside alone. Qing understood that Will is my friend from out of town, and took the train again to Jackson, Will and I walked to pick her up. We just chilled, and caught up. He told me about some happenings with Tyler and Felipe, I was glad to hear about them. He then proceeded to play WoW Arenas with Steve in front of Qing and me. I had fun watching a couple of rounds, but he played 7. I know Qing was bored out of her little Chinese eyes. (; ;) She watched with us though, he left about 1am. We went to sleep pretty soon after.

I need more Alowa

After skipping work to try to get an early start on the night due to my work scheduale this week, Alvin and I ended up waitng for 2 hours for Matheus and JT to get their act together. Because we are natrually chill, we didn't complain and instead used our time effectivly. We chatted about my upcoming travels and the potentials that exist. I also bought a Cat book from Borders while we waited. It's pretty awesome, I'll put up pics of my favorite cat from the book. Once we all rallied and began Thursday in a standard fashion, Alvin JT and I took a shot of Jack for those who could not be with us, i.e Luther and Kevin. Matheus passed on the drink because he is chaffed from lack of webos splash. We looked at a few pictures online, mainly random stuff that I was collecting, but this is all typical randomness from us. The varient was about to arrive with the sugguestion of a trip to 7-11. We get ourselves ready, I get dress jacket and all assuming its passed 12am, I am in New England the weather is probably cold. JT in shorts said "we are just going in the car it will be fine". We go to get in the car, and it does not start. Oh thank heaven. We try a couple of things, but there is not even a drop of energy in the battery. Now, because we were busy doing our random things, when my brother called and told us his lights were still on he forgot to go down and shut them off, I believe this is the cause of the problem. So we broke out the jumper cables, and I was going to back out the car when I think..."guys, I never had to do this, so I am slightly unsure." Earlier Matheus was playing with a knife and I told him unlike a gun, a knife is always loaded and always dangerous, just like a car's engine+battery. I end up having to ask my dad to come out (uncool) to help. He does, and it works we drive up and back, and then the epic fail begins. I go inside for a second, and he tell me while he was idling the car in the front it died again, and we have to jump it for the second time. After jumping, we rev the engine for a while to build up some power so we can drop Alvin and Matheus home without stalling. I have not spoken to anyone since, because I was pretty out of it in the car, my 9 hours of sleep these last 3 days did not build up endurance like one would have imagined. I went to sleep when I got home, but at least it was an eventful and spontaneous evening.

So its about 11:30am I am at work for the 3rd day in a row with 4 hours or less of sleep. It reminds me of the good ol' days in Highschool when I never slept on Thursday night. Go Go Gaget Insomnia? Doing a funny business card scan project. There is a little machine called CardScan600c that you can instert business card into, and it scans them (to its best abilities) and then makes a contact card for outlook or a plethora of other directory based applications. As fun as that was, I found out all the of the ladies here are married with kids more or less. I don't know about Matheus' red head, but I did see her for a second today when passing the receptionist, she did not see me but I think disappeared into one of the elevators. I hear MassDevelopment might let the workers out early on long weekend Fridays, lets just hope that is the case.

I can't wait to go home to begin Lost Odyssey/DoTA/WoW/H3. Epic gaming. I just got L.O in the mail, and I have read nothing on it besides its estimated complete time of 80 hours, Alvin says it plays like Legend of Dragoon, one of my favorite RPGs. I do not know what the plans are for the long weekend, I guess chilling etc, I know a party with Qing is this weekend, but I think Chris's thing was too. Oh Well, we will see. People who are free message me, we got a 3 days to work something out. Still trying to bank for Japan so nothing too extravagant please. I also losing 2 hours pay so I can leave work early for the long weekend. But, hey why not? If anyone knows of technical support jobs, hit me up.

GG, no Re.

My mind; Your eyes

Although yesterday was my mother's birthday I did not spend that much time with her. This was caused by two factors: one, I had to work; and two, I was exhausted. I stayed up till almost 3 am for the third day in a row. I do this regardless of the fact that I have to get up at 7:15 to get ready so I can arrive to work before 9:00. Today though, I was just terribly tired. Im talking falling asleep at the desk tired, 4 coffees later and I have enough time to even make a post. I should be meeting up with JT, Alvin, and Matheus later today. I am leaving Suffolk early again, I would not have even gone if it was not Rob's last day. He is our manager and he recently graduated from UMASS and was offered a job there again, pretty good deal I think. I do have a question does everyone have massive coffee induced poops? I don't always, but the coffee here is strong and plentiful in selections. My favorites so far are: French Vanilla (what I always try everywhere), Colombian Roast, and Hazlenut. Its a cool little machine that you just put a foil covered container with your coffee brand in, and it somehow pops it open fills your cup at 8oz. The funny thing is, because today I went to get so much coffee I met some new people. Now I usually find red heads repulsive (sorry ginger ladies), and I really don't like the milky pale look either, but a girl I saw had both and she was pretty attractive. She was not a natural red head, and it was more maroon anyway so maybe that's why? Plus, she dressed nice, had a sexy body and a cute smile (cause she smiled at me when I passed her). Anon would have a field day with her pics lol. Today reminded me of the "random encounters" section on craigslist that I would read everyday last summer. Always funny stuff, and hey, you never know who's eye you might have caught.

I need to upgrade my desktop, and I need to finish building Kevin's dad's computer. I am kind of waiting until July, because we all know how the tech world is: beginning of summer new shit, 2 months later: better new shit for less. On that note, I am shopping around for an M2 card for my Sony Ericson K800i , 2GB and 4GB for under $40 is preferred. I am thinking of re-buying a PSP, the new slim ones are pretty nice. I need to find out about mods again though. Sigh, so much to do everyday and never time to do it.

Don't forget to exercise!

Enter: Summer of the Rising Sun

This is the start to a summer of extraordinary change. For the second summer in a row I am working 12 hour days. Yes, 12 hours. I work a normal 9-5 job right now for MassDevelopment a government agency that helps with projects around MA. I like it a lot, the environment is great, the workers are friendly, and of course they keep me busy. I just started working on Monday and I think my last day is Friday. This is obviously a recipe for a Temp agency. I am working for MassDev. through R.A.D Temps, and frankly I think they are seriously underpaying me for the work that I am doing. Regardless, I need to start saving for my study abroad trip this Fall. Although I have no official word from Suffolk University or Sophia University , I feel like I am accepted and need to at least prepare mentally to embark. I hope to upkeep this blog while I work through the summer and during my one year stay in Tokyo . Excited for me? You should be! I am looking for contacts in Japan , so if you read this and someone you know comes to mind please do you best to connect us. I say this because I do no know my housing situation yet, and if I end up with something lame, I won't want to be spending more time there then I need. I mean I was looking at apartments in Tokyo , specifically ones that you can have a pet in, and its 351,000 yen or more. If you’re a US oriented person that’s about, $3,397 for a two month lease, which comes to roughly $1,700 US a month. For a place in Tokyo (a luxury one at that) I feel this is not a bad deal, any other opinions? On an entirely different note I have taken up the old Halo 3 harness and I am attempting to reacclimatize myself to my prime. I also got my Shaman on wowscape.org wowlegion private server to 60, and I am about to head into outlands for a serious set of quest lines for a lot of new gear. DoTA still happens every once in a while, but less so as of today. I know a good amount of IRL people who have Xbox live, and 360's so the community there is growing. I have not done anything old school, i.e non-tech or low tech. If any Boston folks are down for something you know where you can find me ^_^. Well I hope I did not bore you, I will see what develops later. (Moms birthday today and I REALLY need to get off the internet.)
